History
We began in the mid 1980’s as the VNA First, a not-for-profit company composed of a network of not-for-profit homecare and hospice agencies in the Midwest United States. VNA First pioneered the first Patient-Centric, Outcome-Driven clinical pathways based on clinical evidence gathered from hundreds of sources, clinical research and the actual data of clinical providers. These VNA First Home Care Steps Protocols are now licensed by over 2,000 agencies in the U.S. and Canada and are deemed the gold-standard of the home healthcare community.
As the company grew, a sister company formed under the name Innovative Healthcare Solutions (IHCS). IHCS expanded the product lines into disease management and patient education.
In the era of Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR), a need arose to focus on converting these paper-based protocols into a suite of clinical decision support tools for integrating within the EMR/EHR. In November 2011, Eventium, a Greater Milwaukee, Wisconsin based company, acquired the assets of VNA First and Innovative Healthcare Solutions, with a mission to add technology to these evidence-based clinical pathways and empower healthcare providers to measurably improve patient outcomes, enhance safety, and lower costs.
Under new Eventium directives, the company engineered a knowledge-based engine to provide best-in-class clinical decision support at the point-of-care, leading to unprecedented levels of quality, compliance, and sustainable outcomes for healthcare organizations.
The Eventium team includes clinicians with deep expertise in the post-acute space of home care, hospice and private duty as well as leadership in business development, software integration, and healthcare technology.
